St. John the Apostle has many opportunities for music ministry participation. Please consider joining this important ministry. Singers and Instrumentalists are welcome. All choirs use volunteers, no formal audition is required. All volunteers may participate in a trial two-week period, and joining the choir relies on the applicant submitting a volunteer application and having their safe environment training. Children are welcome to participate as well as adults.

  
 Saturday 5:00 p.m. Mass Choir
 This choir rehearses on Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. in the Music Room. The choir uses Worship IV and occasional repertoire from other Catholic collections. Contact Kim Kortz at [email protected] if you would like to join!
 
 Sunday Morning Choirs
 Singers and instrumentalists are welcome at 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Masses on Sunday mornings.  We have flute, guitar, string and brass instruments, and are eager to welcome more! Rehearsal takes place an hour before mass in the Music Room. We strongly recommend attending these practices, and anyone who would like to sing solos in the Mass (cantor for the psalm, sequences, Gospel Acclamation, etc.) must attend the practice before Mass. Musicians come to the choir area prior to each Mass in time to be ready to sing and play at the start of each Mass. We use Worship IV, JourneySong, Spirit and Song, and classical series.  Sunday 5:00 p.m. Contemporary Choir
 We primarily use Spirit and Song series, which are adapted into the Worship Aid that is located in the church for the congregation. Rehearsal takes place Sundays at 4:00 p.m. in the Music Room. Instrumentalists and singers are welcome! All teens must complete their teen training and have two references for their application.  Sunday Spanish Choirs
 We have Spanish choirs that provide music for our Sunday 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Masses. The choirs use repertoire from Flor y Canto.  Both singers and instrumentalists are welcome. Contact Deacon Matias at [email protected] for more information or to join either group!
Specialty Choirs
 We need musicians and singers for funerals, Adoration (upon request by faith formation), Confirmation, Eucharistic Procession, Easter Vigil, retreats, and more. These specialty masses and events may be in English, Spanish, or bilingual, and occur outside of the normal Saturday Vigil and Sunday Mass schedules.  Cantors
 Cantors lead the music at Mass. Cantors should possess a pleasant singing voice and the ability to read music. There are opportunities for both English and Spanish cantors for specialty events such as weddings and funerals. To apply or express interest, contact the Parish Office at (817) 284-4811.
  
 Instrumentalists
 Instrumentalists are needed throughout the year. Easter Vigil, the Eucharistic Processions, and Feast days especially present repertoire that use instruments. They may also sometimes be requested for weddings. We need all instruments from guitars and drums to strings, brass and woodwinds.
